1968 - Delphine and her two younger sisters have been sent to California, from Brooklyn,  to visit their mother. Pa decided it was high time  they get to know each other.

Upon their arrival, they are told by Cecile that they are not wanted. She sends them to a center during the day to get them out of her house. The center is run by a Black Panther group. There, the girls learn about the revolution. They also discover learn that their mother, known as Inzilla to the Black Panthers, writes poetry for the group.

Until, she meets up with a level five demon on her own. Her world is in a downward spiral from there. Her father, Paul Blackthorne, dies while trapping a demon. Riley must sit watch at his grave so he's not taken by the necromancers. She is assigned to a new mentor who would rather have her shovel demon poo then teach her.

Riley also has "normal" teenage life to deal with. She's still in school. There's the guy, Simon, also a trapper apprentice. Then, there's the other guy, Beck, also a trapper, but he's already shot her down years ago.

Riley continues her father's research about the increasing ineffectiveness of Holy Water and demons. The demons know her by name and are out to get her.

This is the 1st book in the series. The 2nd book, Soul Thief, will be out on August 30, 2011.

Johnny is a cobbler. He repairs (and designs) shoes at the family store in Florida.

Nothing much happens around the hotel he works near, until Princess Victoriana of Aloria shows up. She persuades Johnny to go on a hunt to track down her brother who has been turned into a frog. She gives him a cloak that will take him anywhere he wants, and a set of headphones that allow him to hear animals when they speak. Victoriana also supplies him with $10,000 to assist him.

Johnny meets up with his friend Meg on his journey. Well, she kinda saves his butt...

In the end, Johnny finds fame, wealth, and love.

Andi's mom is placed in an institution and Andi is forced to return to Paris, France with him.

Once in Paris, Andi's father is working on finding DNA evidence that a found heart belongs to the son of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette. Andi has time to work on her senior thesis about a French composer. She also discovers a diary belonging to  Alexandrine, the friend to the prince.

Violet can see the future, but only of the people close to her. Since her father died,she is left living with her stepmom who just got a job in New York. Violet applied, and was accepted to Winterhaven boarding school. It didn't take long to realize that there was something special about Winterhaven. All the students there have gifts.

For the first time, Violet feels like she belongs. She's made friends and the hottest guy in school, Aidan,  is paying attention to her. Things get complicated when she has a vision of Aidan covered in blood and realizes she's the reason for it.

Kristi's website says that this is meant to be a trilogy. Book #2 is a go, but no other information.
